How can I tell if a peptide COA is fake?

Common red flags include no testing-laboratory name, a layout reused across different products, blurred or pasted-over fields (lab name, batch number, QR code), a molecular weight that doesn't match the named peptide, a suspiciously perfect 100% purity, and no way to verify the report with the lab. What is a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for peptides?

A COA is a lab report stating what a specific batch was tested for and the results — typically identity (by mass spectrometry), purity (by HPLC), and sometimes contaminant testing. It's the main objective evidence that the contents match the label, which matters most in an unregulated market.

What should a legitimate peptide COA include?

At minimum: the product/peptide name, a batch or lot number, the analysis date, the testing laboratory's name and contact details, a numeric purity result, mass-spectrometry identity confirmation, and ideally a way to verify the report with the lab. A thorough COA also includes a chromatogram and contaminant testing. Pep Trust shows you which of these are present and which are missing.

Does a high purity number mean the peptide is safe?

No. Purity is not safety, and it's not potency. A COA usually doesn't test for sterility, bacterial endotoxins, heavy metals, or residual solvents — and a peptide can be highly pure yet degraded or misfolded. A COA also only describes the sample that was tested, not necessarily the vial you received. The only way to know what's in your vial is independent testing of that vial.
